Our COMMITMENT
BigDaddy’s commits to producing a diverse yield of crops, grown using sustainable, organic principles and will promise to donate any excess to local food banks and various faith-based institutions.
BigDaddy’s customers are our greatest asset and most trusted partners. Together we look forward to exploring an array of organic vegetables on an experimental journey this inaugural season. Learning from the successes and failures will shape our plans for subsequent years.
BigDaddy’s committed marketing strategy involves developing and maintaining relationships with our customers. We seek to enhance those relationships with consistent transparency and communicating the “story of the farm” in a way that builds confidence in our produce and service.
BigDaddy’s farmers can be found in the fields almost every day except Sunday. That’s because they love growing food for their fellow central Floridians.
BigDaddy’s farmland has been in low-density cow pasture for over 12 years before we started operations in 2018. Since then, no harsh chemicals have been applied to the land; hence, our USDA Organic Certification integrity. Our certification is reviewed and requires re-application each year. We test our soil annually to monitor soil fertility and always strive to use farming methods that re-build soil function as a vital living ecosystem.
BigDaddy’s commitment to the soil comes from a lifetime of farming experience which has strengthened our believe in the ability of nature to heal itself if treated well. In fact, one of the goals of organic farming is to improve soil health, along with the goal of being sustainable. Those goals will always be a balancing act that we take very seriously because of the difficulty to find any land or water that has not been exposed in some fashion to chemicals. BigDaddy’s farm has a proud heritage that we hope to honor, not by copying, but by improving to the very best of our ability.
